Ahhh Gotta Love Iowa Weather & Free Yarn!

Soooo the weather has been crazy here in Iowa lately. First we had an ice storm, I lost power for 3 hours, then we had a snow storm, which was pretty and THEN today it rained and the university only canceled afternoon and evening classes. That pissed me off because it's harder to get somewhere in the morning when nothing is cleared. Whatever grrrr. . .

I'm not too sad because some of my STR came in the mail the other day. Yay! I bought 5 skeins for me and one for a dear friend who's birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday Anna!!! Three of the skeins are from the Raven Clan while the others are Grinchy and 1 I'm too lazy to look at the name of. . .

I am also going to be putting up some more yarn on my etsy shop. Below are two pics of "Diabolical Christmas" and "Judah Mac'abe." These are the Woodland Sock yarn which is a superwash bamboo/merino/nylon blend. These will be going up soon.

Below is yet another pair of socks I'm working on. These are for my sister's bf, Mike. The colourway is my own "Half Blod Prince" on size US2's with 64 stitches. I like how it is coming out so far.

Talking about boys. . . .my boy is coming to visit me for 2 weeks on the 18th. I am sooooooo excited!!!! I have to knit him a hat before he gets here, oy. Luckily I picked up a skein of Encore bulky in light blue, soooo it'll be a fast knit. =)

FREE YARN!!!

Yeah, so I bought more yarn obviously and I'm not knitting it fast enough. So, we have free yarn to give away! Each set has enough yarn for 4 pairs of socks! Here is the question (the best 2 win the yarn) Tell me the most romantic day you have ever had with a significant other. Goodluck! <3 Please place this on your blogs also, place the name of where you saw this contest in your comment also. Thanks!

Oh, GO PACKERS, HELL YEAH BUCKEYES ARE GOING BACK TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND I WANT THIS DAMN SEMESTER TO END!!!!!!!! PLEASE LET THE 18TH COME SOONER!!!

I would say the most romantic day I had with my hubby was just before our little boy was born. We were in Hawaii. Our friends were getting married and I was photographing it. During the week we were there, we woke up late, had a leisurely breakfast, walked to the beach, hung out in the sand, went to an amazing beach not far from where we were staying and snorkeled in the coral reef, and just wandered around the beautiful island all day. That night, we had a nice dinner, and afterward, he rubbed my swollen feet and legs. He always happily helped me out with whatever I needed/wanted, as I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I felt huge and ungainly, but he always treated me as the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. He's such a sweet guy. (Plus, he's from IOWA. And went to the U of Iowa. Hawkeyes all the way. I don't know if that sways things.) :)

Romantic? Romantic? That I don't really know. We (unfortunately) aren't that spontaneous...
I guess the closest is probably us biking on the DesPlaines river trail, packing a picnic for two, taking pictures of the beautiful scenery, crossing highways on the trail bridges (it's pretty cool...you feel really dizzy looking down), and stopping for a second. Since noone was around, we stole a kiss... and rode off again. Later, we got Dairy Queen icecream before biking home.
Sounds pretty corny, huh? That may be the best I have.

Now, if you wanted a different tale...of the most dangerous thing you did with a significant other...you might get a kick out of me. lol.

The only romance here is the suprise of a new ride for Christmas, it's on my blog. With a daughter and 2 grandkids living with you there is no room for romance..
BTW the box got lost in the mail.

I found this on Knitting Up A Storm's Blog!

My most romantic day I've ever had with my boyfriend was on my Birthday 2 years ago. He dedicated the whole day to making me happy. He woke me up in the morning and cooked breakfast for me. Later, after HE cleaned up we went to the park where he had set up a scavenger hunt for me. I ran around the park (probably looking like a maniac to everyone) looking for little sheets of paper with poemms to tell me where to go next (once I figured out what the poem meant). Throughout the hunt, I found a rose, a picture of him, me, and my bestfriend on Halloween, and a cd. I also ended up stumbling over some branches and cut my foot, which he cleaned and bandaged for me. We went out to lunch together and ended up at the park that night, laying on a blanket and staring at the sky.

However, if this contest was the most romantic time, it would definitely be watching our first thunderstorm together!

The most romantic day I had with my boyfriend was this summer. Since he graduated from college we haven't been able to spend much time together. So, we meet up around noon and he surprised me with a gift basket full of candies and fun little goodies. We spent the rest of the day wandering about town and generally enjoying each other's company. After dinner that night we got a slice of chocolate cheesecake and went back to our room. We spent the rest of the night talking and getting chocolate all over the bed.

That time we spent just being close to each other and laughing is something that I look back with fondness every day.

My most romantic day was Valentines Day 2007, by honey took me out to the movies and to dinner and when we got home there was a dozen roses in a beautiful red glass vase on the fireplace and he had bought me a new cell phone(because the one I had was a piece of crap). We finished the evening by him giving me a massage with the soft coueur massage bar from LUSH and drinking lots of wine(if you haven't tried LUSH products, i would definitely suggest you do!!). We talked and snuggled the rest of the night. My babe is defintely the best! He's romantic all the time and his cooking is fan-freaking-tastic !

Many years ago, my husband surprised me with an impromptu picnic at the park. He had packed up some yummy food - shrimp salad, cheeses, fresh bread, strawberries, chocolates, and champagne. He spread a blanket on a small hill, and we watched the sunset while enjoying our feast. It was a perfect evening, and I will never forget it.

I saw this on photoknitnerd's blog!

My husband & I are nerds (and proud of it!) and always like to do things to show we are "nerds in love." My favorite day--super romantic for nerds--was this June. For our 4th anniversary my dear husband took me to Noah's Ark waterpark--yes, I am 31 and I had never been to a waterpark before. We had the most fun ever, running from ride to ride like the delirious idiots we are, riding every single ride 5 times, getting royally sunburned, receiving the scorn of the under-dressed preteens ("gawd, I hope I don't act like that when I'm old!"), and gorging ourselves on fabulous pizza and beer at Moosejaw pizza. It was fabulous
